How Weird Text Actually Works
Weird copy-and-paste text is usually built from Unicode characters, but there is no single Weird Text block. A generator may draw from mathematical alphabets, phonetic letters, enclosed alphanumerics, fullwidth forms, modifier letters, letterlike symbols, or characters from other writing systems that happen to resemble Latin letters. Why Random Lookalike Letters Need Caution
Some weird styles borrow characters from other scripts because they resemble Latin letters. Unicode calls visually similar characters “confusables” in its security guidance. A character can look like an English letter while having a completely different identity in the underlying text.
